Cathy Grassick, chairperson of the Irish Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association: My Christmas wish as chairman of ITBA is for continued recognition for the worldwide success of Irish breeders both by the Irish Government and in the marketplace. As an owner, breeder and bloodstock agent, my wish is always the same for the winners to keep on coming! On a personal note, I know I should probably be looking for world peace or good fortune to all, but, as it’s Christmas, I have listened to the animal-obsessed little girl still inside me and I’m wishing for a puppy or a pony or ideally both – both Santa and my husband have been put on notice!

Aine O’Connor, leading lady rider this season - This Christmas I wish for world peace and a Range Rover!

Jodie McGarvey, jockey - This Christmas I wish for Margot Robbie but if Santa can’t deliver, a winner at Leopardstown will do!

Jennifer Pugh, senior medical office IHRB - I wish for blue skies and soft ground for racing!

Patrick Mullins, Champion amateur jockey - A happy ending to Cristiano Ronaldo’s time at Manchester United!

Paul Townend, jockey - I really want a mountain bike!

Aidan Fitzgerald, P2P handler - For the war to stop in the Ukraine and for Sam Curling to smile once in a while!
