THERE was an excellent turnout from both the thoroughbred and sport horse sectors at a recent CAFRE Equine Breeding Conference held at Greenmount Campus, Antrim where a range of speakers covered all aspects of the equine breeding cycle.

Seamus McAlinney, head of Equine at CAFRE, opened the conference which was chaired by Alison Corbally, Horse Sport Ireland’s director of Breeding and Programmes who also highlighted the importance of good selection of breeding stock to continue to improve the breeding industry in Northern Ireland.
