THERE were some notable pinhooking successes during the week. The third lot into the ring on day one, and the second lot to sell, was Pier House Stud’s Invincible Spirit colt out of the stakes-placed Street Cry mare Sagami. Bought for €155,000 as a foal, he cost SackvilleDonald 500,000gns.

The Morrin’s farm also sold the fourth last lot to go through the ring on the opening day, and they hit the jackpot a second time. Their 325,000gns foal buy, a Frankel colt out of a stakes-placed half-sister to Golan, more than doubled in value to 700,000gns, catching the eye of M.V. Magnier who signed for him.
