JET Away’s eldest are only six, but we have an indication of what lies ahead for him.

He has had success in point-to-points despite Covid messing up the year his first four-year-olds were due in action, and his growing tally of winners under rules include several multiple scorers plus his first blacktype horse.

Dreams Of Home (dam by King’s Ride) won his sole point-to-point before notching up an undefeated novice hurdle campaign for the Donald McCain team; he’s a winning novice chaser this season.

Gordon’s Jet (dam by Alderbrook) was a five-length debut bumper winner at Punchestown for Gordon Elliott before joining the Brian Ellison stable and won first time out for the new connections too. His most recent success was by 10 lengths at Sedgefield in October.

Jet Of Magic (dam by Definite Article) landed his bumper by four lengths at Punchestown, is now trained by Oliver Greenall in Cheshire, and won back-to-back handicap hurdles at Doncaster and Wetherby last month. Galway bumper and Roscommon hurdle winner De Lady In Red (dam by Heron Island), February’s wide-margin Ffos Las hurdle winner Eureka Creek (dam by Turgeon), plus Hollymount (dam by Zaffaran) and Outback Flyer (dam by Bob Back) are successful Jet Away-sired daughters, the last-named off the mark in a Wexford maiden hurdle this month.

The Willie Mullins-trained Brandy Love (dam by Saddlers’ Hall) is his star so far, a Grade 1-entered first-crop representative who was runner-up in the Grade 3 Solerina Mares’ Novice Hurdle at Fairyhouse on her most recent start.

She won her sole point-to-point by eight lengths, made £200,000 at the Tattersalls Cheltenham February Sale six days later, and has won two from four under rules.

Brandy Love’s odds-on seven-length bumper debut at Fairyhouse in December 2020 was followed by third in a Grade 2 bumper at Leopardstown and, although not seen out again for 10 and a half months, she ran away with her hurdles debut at Naas in December.

There have been 166 foals registered in Jet Away’s 2021 crop, including colts who made €54,000 (Goffs), €45,000 (Fairyhouse), €40,000 (Fairyhouse), and €34,000 (Goffs), and he covered 279 mares last season.

Also last year, he had €74,000 and €52,000 Goffs Land Rover sons, an €85,000 one at the Tattersalls Cheltenham November Sale, whereas his eight-length Borris House point-to-point scorer Jet Powered (Presenting), previously a €45,000 Derby Sale graduate, made 350,000gns at the Tattersalls Online December Sale to join the Nicky Henderson stable.

Of those sold already in 2022, Dromahane point-to-point scorer Twinjets made £45,000 at the Tattersalls Cheltenham January Sale followed by a 12-length winning debut in a Hereford bumper last Sunday, trained by Milton Harris.

The career of Jet Away (Cape Cross), a 10-furlong Group 3 scorer from the family of Dansili, Cacique and Champs Elysees, all by Danehill (Danzig), is on an upward trajectory.
