IN a week which included classy classic winners and several other group races, it takes quite something to be top of the pack in terms of time performances, but that feat was achieved with comfort by Battaash in the Group 2 Temple Stakes at Haydock last Saturday.

In beating the previous year’s Nunthorpe one-two – Alpha Delphini and Mabs Cross – by a comfortable two and a half lengths, Battaash ran a 127 timefigure if a video time of 58.18s is used rather than the dubious official one of 57.70s.
