THE Irish Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association will host a foal sale preparation workshop in mid-September.

The workshop will begin at 10am, the morning session will be at the ITBA headquarters at Greenhills, Kill. In the afternoon the workshop will move to the Irish National Stud, Kildare Town.

The morning session will be delivered by a panel of industry experts and will cover topics such as the importance of a good preparation programme to ensure your stock reach their full potential in time for the foal sales, the importance of correct farriery in young stock, veterinary matters to be considered for selling foals at public auction of required vaccination and disease outbreak prevention, the benefits of a good feeding programme and breeding for today’s market.

The afternoon session is a visit to the Irish National Stud. Members of the Irish National Stud team will show a number of foals and talk about their conformation.

The workshop is €20 for ITBA member and €30 for non-members. The official date of the workshop will be announced shortly.
