THE Irish National Stud continues to diversify its operations and revenue streams.
Last Tuesday, the stud hosted its annual Teddy Bears’ Picnic and, on Saturday, August 8th, they will celebrate the Lughnasa Harvest Festival at Tully.
Tuesday’s party included arts and crafts, puppet show, face painting and tea-cup ride. Surely the kids would have preferred a giant screen showing Goodwood and Galway?
The Lughnasa Festival is all about traditional music and “celebrating the ancient Celtic harvest tradition with a full day of food, culture, family entertainment and seasonal Irish produce”. That’s all very well, but you can do all that at the Dublin Horse Show on the same day. At least get Hurricane Fly to school over a few poles!
