INVINCIBLE Spirit, the flagship stallion for the Irish National Stud, has had his covering fee taken private for 2023.

The 25-year-old horse, sire of 20 individual Group 1 winners and numerous successful stallions, had a published stud fee of €60,000 this year. It was as high as €120,000 between 2016 and 2019. According to the latest edition of the Return of Mares, Invincible Spirit covered just over 100 mares in 2022.

Eight of the nine other stallions on the INS roster have had their fees frozen for next year. Decorated Knight has had his fee reduced by 33% to €5,000.
