3.00 Moyglare Stud Stakes (Group 1) 7f

Amazing Show: Made good progress from a debut third over six furlongs at Naas to run out a comfortable winner of a Down Royal maiden in late July, readily accounting for Gan Teorainn. She could easily progress again but takes a huge rise in class.

Eternal Silence: Couldn’t land a blow when well touted on her debut on Oaks weekend, finishing in midfield behind Vernet, but did much better when beaten less than a length and a half into third by Aspen Grove in a Group 3 next time. She will progress further but needs to now that she tackles Group 1 company and is bred to appreciate better ground.

Gan Teorainn: Built on a nice debut to win a mile maiden at Naas last month and looked a nice type in the process. However, she finished at the rear in the Debutante and now has it all to do.

La Dolce Vita: Showed a good level of form at the height of the summer when a Tipperary victory over Hans Andersen came either side of good runs behind Zoinnocent and Never Ending Story. She has struggled lately and others hold more convincing claims.

Lakota Sioux: Smart sort who showed up well against the colts to take third in the Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot and did better again last time to land the Group 3 Sweet Solera Stakes at Newmarket. The form of that Newmarket race isn’t entirely convincing though.

Meditate: Lines up as the one to beat following an impressive and unbeaten season which featured an all-the-way success in the Albany at Royal Ascot before her successful return to the fray in the Debutante Stakes over this course and distance last month. Looks hard to oppose.

Never Ending Story: Emerged as one of the most promising juvenile fillies around when following up a Derby Weekend success in the Silver Flash at Leopardstown when seeing off Zoinnocent by half a length. However, she was beaten at Group 2 level in France last time which leaves her with a question or two to answer.

Papilio: Showed decent form when winning her maiden here in May and when accounting for the useful Greenland at Killarney in July. She showed up well again in a listed event at Tipperary last month to chase home Hellsing but will have to move her form on to another level for this assignment.

Shelton: Progressed from a solid debut to win the Loder Race over this course and distance last month and acquitted herself well at Group 3 level last time when chasing home Aspen Grove over one mile. Could do better again and isn’t a forlorn hope.

Sydneyarms Chelsea: Ran an honourable fifth to Meditate in the Albany Stakes on her second start and comes here off a career best which yielded a Group 3 win in France last month. However, another career best is needed.

Tahiyra: Half-sister to the brilliant Tarnawa and couldn’t have made a better start to her career when bolting up in a seven-furlong fillies’ maiden at the Galway Festival. Fascinating contender with huge potential and a big run is quite likely.

Thornbrook: Looked a nice filly when winning a Leopardstown maiden on her debut in July and then posted a very nice effort to finish third to Meditate in last month’s Debutante over this course and distance. Can do better still and another decent showing looks to be on the cards.

Conclusion

Meditate’s unbeaten season can continue with the Albany and Debutante Stakes winner put forward to make her first try at this level a winning one. She might have most to fear from the exciting Tahiyra who looked so good on her debut at Galway. Never Ending Story is respected despite her defeat in France, while Shelton and Thornbrook are others with the capacity to run well.
