THE County Clare Hunt, established in 1890, is seeking Joint Masters to join their hunt for the forthcoming season. This is a rare and prestigious opportunity for someone passionate about countryside heritage, conservation and equestrian life to become a Joint Master with one of Ireland’s most historic and unique hunts.
Hunting across the famous County Clare Hunt country, throughout the world-famous Burren UNESCO Geopark, the scenic Shannon Estuary, and North and West of Clare, the Clare Hunt enjoys immensely diverse countryside and experiences.
The County Clare Hunt is affiliated with Ireland’s leading hunting associations and is a member of both the IMFHA and IMHA. Situated very close to Shannon Airport with hunting taking place between 10- and 40-minutes’ drive from the airport, they offer easy access for Irish and international visitors.
Clare Hunt has a rich heritage and strong community support for their meets, which take place on Thursdays and Sundays with extra meets during the Christmas period. With no day-to-day operational duties required plus added formal and informal privileges, this position is highly sought after.
There is also the active social calendar, which includes point-to-point races, hunt ball, golf classics, race days, BBQs, children’s meets and fun/charity rides, along with social gatherings pre- and post-meet.
