Kansas City Star

(G. Elliott)

Fairyhouse, December 3rd

A smart point-to-point winner for Colin Bowe, this gelding disappointed in his bumper but did much on his hurdles debut last month when pushing Grade 1 performer Ashroe Diamond close over two miles.

He looked in need of a longer trip and it was the same story at Fairyhouse last Saturday when he finished third in a hot race won by Joyeux Machin. Don’t miss Kansas City Star when upped in trip. He carries the colours of high-profile owner Bryan Drew, so maybe there is a plan to go to England. (MC)

Comfort Zone

(Joseph O’Brien)

Fairyhouse, December 4th

He looked a Triumph Hurdle contender when he won well at Naas in November but his limitations were exposed last Sunday when a moderate third behind Lossiemouth and Zarak The Brave.

Maybe connections will start thinking about the Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle at Cheltenham. (MC)

Run For Harry

(Gillian O’Callaghan)

Fairyhouse, December 4th

The bumper at Fairyhouse last Sunday was effectively a match between Better Days Ahead and Chapeau De Soleil, but the third-placed Run For Harry showed a bit of promise on debut.

When the pace quickened he was able to live with the principals until just over a furlong out. Bred by Nick Luck, he will win races. (MC)

Chapeau De Soleil

(Willie Mullins)

Fairyhouse, December 4th

Not an original selection for one to watch, having won his point-to-point at Stowlin impressively last May. He was odds-on for the bumper but looked an awkward ride. He did stay on again when passed on the stands rail and with the Elliott team having a lot of bumper success, he might still go off at reasonable odds in one if lining up against a Cullentra rival.
