GORDON Elliott and owners Noel and Valerie Moran acquired another very exciting jump racing prospect on Tuesday when paying £300,000 at the Goffs UK January Sale for the Carlisle bumper winner Hollymount.

The sale took place online and was one of 36 horses sold during the session for a total of £1.1 million.

Previously trained by Stuart Crawford, Hollymount is a half-sister to the Grade 2-placed pair Windsor Avenue and Ravenhill. The mare won her debut bumper by an impressive eight-lengths last month.

Hollymount was sold on behalf of Peter and Alan Buchanan.

The sale saw three horses sell for six-figure sums, the others being dual Grade 1 winning mare La Bague Au Roi, who sold to retired footballer Kevin Doyle and Peter Nolan for £170,000, and Yorton Farm’s Buck's Bee, a half-sister to the multiple Grade 1 winner Big Buck's, which sold to Kieran Mariga’s Coolmara Stables in Youghal, Co Cork, for £125,000.
