ONE Man Band collected a tidy sum of $600,000 for his victory in the Group 2 Godolphin Mile on Dubai World Cup night recently. The Irish-bred son of Pivotal defeated another son of the same sire to land the spoils.

This was the eighth career win in 15 starts for One Man Band and he was the first winner on World Cup night for trainer Doug Watson. John Ferguson paid €95,000 for One Man Band as a foal at the Goffs November Sale in 2011 when he was sold from Mount Coote Stud on behalf of breeder Richard Pegum.
