THERE will have been a sigh of relief in the bloodstock world following the first post-Brexit sale of thoroughbreds at Arqana over the last two days. While it could hardly be described as a definitive litmus test of the market going forward, it will have brought pleasure to the French sales company to report such strong trade for the stock they offered.

Meanwhile, sales company bosses elsewhere will take solace in the fact that Arqana managed to produce such an impressive set of results. There will be much focus on what happens at Tattersalls this coming week where more than 850 lots are catalogued for the July Sale over three days.
