SIX thoroughbred races at the penultimate Jebel Ali meeting of the season were highlighted by a six-furlong conditions race for three-year-olds. It was won in taking fashion by the maiden Hawa Bilady.

On his fifth start since making his debut in mid-January, the Shanghai Bobby colt looked in trouble at halfway under Fabrice Veron. Tackling the sharp Jebel Ali incline, he devoured the ground over the final furlong and a half to win comfortably. In the orange silks of the Bouresly Racing Syndicate, and trained by Rashed Bouresly, he was having just his second start on dirt.
