Rides from both jockeys were beautiful. Neither panicked, neither of them were over animated throwing the whip about, both just nicely and professionally asked their horses to try their best, and that’s what they did. Those rides should be examples to jockeys. That was racing.

Yes - Shishkin v Energumene probably wasn’t the best race *ever*, but the fact anyone could argue that it was shows the value of these beasts putting it on the line occasionally. And it’s made Cheltenham more as opposed to less interesting. More please Willie & @sevenbarrows

I never knew it would be this hard, of course we’ve had horses put to sleep before, as is the case with keeping any animal but having bred him and gone through all his life with him, and him being the complete superstar he was from day one, it’s unbelievably hard.
