THE enormous draft from Godolphin, only bettered in size by that of The Castlebridge Consignment, contained many gems, and no doubt a few bargains too. Footprints was the most expensive of their sales at 260,000gns, and one of 11 to bring a six-figure sum.

Three of this group were all sold within minutes of each other. The unraced Cheradi is a Dubawi own-sister to Territories, winner of the Group 1 Prix Jean Prat, runner-up in the Group 1 2000 Guineas and now a Group 1 sire. She was sold for 190,000gns to Breckenridge Ventures.

This is the extended family of the Irish Oaks winner Helen Street, dam of Street Cry, the three-time Group and Grade 1 winner, whose victories including the Dubai World Cup.

Helen Street is grandam of the Group 1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere and Group 1 Poule d’Essai des Poulains-French 2000 Guineas winner Victor Ludorum, and of the champion European two-year-old, miler and dual French classic winner Shamardal.

Miss Jingles

She followed the four-year-old Exceed And Excel filly Miss Jingles into the ring. Twice a winner at two, Miss Jingles is an own-sister to Sound And Silence, a juvenile winner of the Group 3 Prix Eclipse and Listed Windsor Castle Stakes. She sold to Cap Bloodstock for 170,000gns.

Miss Jingles is a granddaughter of Gossamer, winner of the Group 1 Irish 1000 Guineas and the Group 1 Fillies’ Mile at two. Dam of the Group 1 Racing Post Trophy winner Ibn Khaldun, Gossamer is an own-sister to the Group 1 Irish 2000 Guineas and Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Mile winner Barathea.

Haras Voltaire and Haras des Monceaux also went to 170,000gns for the three-year-old Shamardal filly Piattoli. She is unraced and a half-sister to Impusif, winner of the Group 3 Prix Messidor. Her appeal to French buyers is apparent as she is a granddaughter of the good racemare Allez Les Trois, the dam of French Derby winner Anabaa Blue, grandam of Tamayuz, and ancestress of Group 1 winners Santiago and Eshaada.

Allez Les Trois is a Riverman half-sister to the blue hen broodmare Urban Sea and to King’s Best.

First Smile

Tally-Ho Stud spent 180,000gns for Dark Angel’s juvenile winner First Smile, in foal for the first time to Profitable on a March 1st cover. She is one of five winners out of the Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes winner Jealous Again, dam of three blacktype runners including Sceptical, a listed winner at Naas who was runner-up in the Group 1 July Cup and third in the Group 1 Diamond Jubilee Stakes.

Also on the selling list from Godolphin were Agent Sonya and Rainband, realising 140,000gns and 135,000gns respectively. BBA Ireland purchased the former, a placed daughter of Dubawi out of the Group 2 winning Lope De Vega mare Very Special, herself a half-sister to the Group 1 Fillies’ Mile and Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf winner Chriselliam.

Natalma Bloodstock signed for the stakes-placed Medaglia D’Oro mare Rainband, and she was sold in foal, for the first time, to Invincible Spirit. Rainband’s third dam was the legendary racemare and broodmare, Dahlia.
