SOME of Europe’s elite stallions are represented by yearlings in the catalogue for the BBAG Yearling Sale which takes place in Baden-Baden on Friday, September 5th.
Among the sires with stock on offer are Australia, Blackbeard, Camelot, Cracksman, Ghaiyyath, Gleneagles, Nathaniel, New Bay, Palace Pier, Sea The Moon, Sea The Stars, Sioux Nation, Siyouni, Soldier Hollow, Starspangledbanner and Teofilo.
There are 210 yearlings catalogued and all leading German stud farms and consigners are represented, supplemented by numerous international consignors.
A total of 28 siblings to group winners will be travelling to Iffezheim.
Among them are a full-brother to Italian 2000 Guineas winner See Hector, and a Siyouni colt from the immediate family of Arc winner Torquator Tasso.
There is also a New Bay brother to Italian Derby winner Ardakhan.
Over half of the yearlings offered are either out of mares that have earned blacktype or are siblings to blacktype horses.
In the meantime BBAG will host an online sale starting next Wednesday. There are already 30 horses being offered, headed by the three-year-old colt Lazio.
Trained by Waldemar Hickst, Lazio (by Make Believe) finished third in the German Derby on July 6th and then, three weeks later, finished third again to Godolphin’s Tornado Alert in the Group 1 Grosser Dallmayr-Preis over 10 furlongs. Another highlight is Warren Hill, who won the BBAG Auction Race in Bad Harzburg in his last start.
Bidding starts at noon on Wednesday and closes from 3pm on Friday.
