LAST Saturday’s Breeders’ Cup Mile winner Space Blues will stand at Kildangan Stud in Monasterevin, Co Kildare, next year and his fee has been set at €17,500. He is the only new name on the stallion roster at Sheikh Mohammed’s Irish base for 2022.

Space Blues is Dubawi’s fastest stallion son, having added the Breeders’ Cup Mile success to Group 1 wins over seven furlongs and six and a half furlongs in the Prix de la Foret and Prix Maurice de Gheest. He also won the very valuable 1351 Turf Sprint in Saudi Arabia.

The only stallion on the Kildangan roster to get a fee increase is Profitable, who goes to €12,500 from €10,000. He has had 25 winners to date, led by Group 2 Queen Mary heroine Quick Suzy. This year 10 of his yearlings made six-figure sums.

Fellow first-crop sire Ribchester will stand for the same money, having come down €5,000. He is responsible for recent Doncaster Stakes winner Flaming Rib.

Night Of Thunder is the highest priced stallion at Kildangan, his fee unchanged at €75,000. The fees for Ghaiyyath, Earthlight and Belardo have all been reduced slightly. Blue Point and Teofilo remain unchanged.

Darley’s British roster at Dalham Hall Stud has gained Palace Pier, who retired rated the champion miler and with five top-flight victories to his name. He begins his stallion career at £55,000, the same fee his sire Kingman retired at back in 2015.

Dubawi heads the Newmarket roster at an unchanged fee of £250,000 after a year in which he was the world’s leading sire of group winners (23) and stakes winners (37) and also Europe’s top sales stallion (with an average of £541,000).

At the weekend, he became the first horse ever to sire three Breeders’ Cup winners in the same year after outstanding victories for Modern Games, Yibir and Space Blues.

Victor Ludorum retires to Darley’s French base, Haras du Logis, standing at €15,000. The son of Shamardal was an undefeated Group 1 winner at two before winning the Group 1 Poule d’Essai des Poulains at three.
