SHOWCASING won the Group 2 Gimcrack Stakes and was placed in the Group 1 Middle Park Stakes at two, and he was a half-length runner-up in the Group 2 Duke of York Stakes first time out in an abbreviated season at three. The son of Oasis Dream (Green Desert) represents a branch of a powerful line, and is established as one of the leading stallions in England.

The Whitsbury Manor Stud resident started at an initial fee of £5,000 but now costs £45,000, his yearlings consistently sell well, and he has several stallion sons among his 63 blacktype-winning offspring. Cappella Sansevero and Tasleet are Group 2 sires, while the younger generations are represented by such as Group 1 star Advertise, the multiple Group 1-placed Group 2 scorer Soldier’s Call, Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes winner Alkumait, and by a stallion with his first yearlings, Mohaather.

Showcasing’s early profile was of a stallion who would likely get mostly sprinters, but with the potential to sire some talented milers too. Dice Roll (Poule d’Essai des Poulains-French 2000 Guineas), Raghu (New Zealand Derby) and Xpression (New Zealand 1000 Guineas) have been classic-placed, while Tropbeau missed the frame by only a head in the Poule d’Essai des Pouliches. However, Showcasing already has a star miler to his credit in Mohaather.

A lightly-raced 110,000gns yearling purchase by Shadwell, Mohaather won the Group 3 Horris Hill Stakes at Newbury shortly after landing his maiden over six furlongs at Nottingham, two of his three juvenile starts. He was placed on his debut. He added the Group 3 Greenham Stakes, back at Newbury, on the first of just two starts at three, before going on to be rated 129 by Timeform as a four-year-old.

In his third season racing for Sheikh Hamdan, trained by Marcus Tregoning, he trounced San Donato by almost four lengths to take the Group 2 Summer Mile at Ascot, and this was just 18 days before beating Circus Maximus and Siskin in the Group 1 Sussex Stakes over the same trip at Goodwood, a performance that drew rave reviews, and was achieved in a faster time than that recorded by Kingman to win the same race,

Mohaather is a full-brother to the Grade 1-placed dual Grade 2-winning sprinter-miler Prize Exhibit (Showcasing), and she now is the dam of a Group 3 winner in History (Galileo). Mohaather is a half-brother to the dams of Group 1 Queen Anne Stakes scorer Accidental Agent (Delegator), and last year’s Group 2 May Hill Stakes winner, Polly Pott (Muhaarar), a classic hopeful for this season.

Roodeye (Inchinor), the dam of Mohaather, is one of five blacktype earners out of Roo (Rudimentary), a stakes-placed relation of the juvenile Group 1 stars Astaire (Intense Focus) and Dead Certain (Absalom) and Group 2 Gimcrack Stakes scorer Bannister (Inchinor).

Mohaather’s first foals sold well in 2022, making up to 110,000gns, and Shadwell, Joe Foley, Glenvale Stud and Manister House Stud all stocked up on them.
