IRISH racing very much dominated the stage on Sunday, even overshadowing Saturday’s showcase British meeting at Cheltenham. There were also some fine performances over at Punchestown, where the Mullins team was in the ascendant.

Djakadam made slightly heavy weather of winning his second John Durkan Memorial Punchestown Chase but Outlander and Sub Lieutenant were significant rivals and the trip of two and a half miles was short of his best. Djakadam’s timefigure of 157 looks a good platform for the season ahead.
