ON Saturday, 28 finalists lined out for the Absolute Jewellery Design five-year-old final at Cavan’s June Five-Day Summer Horse Show, with a prize fund of €1,500 on offer. Claiming the win was Jonathan Smyth with Molly Keane’s Oakport Lion Man, when double clear in 38.30 seconds. Bred by his owner, the gelding is by Cornet Obolensky and out of the Luidam-sired dam, Oakport Lui Cruise On. This combination has been consistently placed in the DAFM classes and just had one down in the last round of the Dublin Horse Show Qualifiers.

Megan McGettigan and the Kenneth Graham-owned Lenamore Air Display took second place, with a clear in 38.42. Bred by Geraldine Graham, the mare is by Echonix and out of the Aldato-sired dam, Lenamore Bella Donna. This is another consistent performer in the age classes and qualified for Balmoral Five-year-old Championship recently.
