TREO Eile is delighted to launch its inaugural Summer Sale in partnership with Tattersalls Online, a boutique performance sale dedicated to showcasing thoroughbreds excelling in their second careers as sport horses. This is a unique opportunity for vendors to present quality horses to a targeted audience of buyers actively seeking retrained thoroughbreds for a number of disciplines including dressage, show jumping, eventing and showing.
To further enhance the appeal of sale graduates, an attractive bonus scheme will run in both Ireland and the UK for 2027. In Ireland, bonuses will be awarded across five competitions and shared among winning graduates of the sale. In the UK, additional prizes will be available at selected RoR Championship classes. These bonuses will be paid directly to the registered owner at the time of competition, adding real value for potential buyers and helping your horse stand out in the marketplace.
Qualification route
As a performance-focused sale, all entries must meet qualification criteria and will be categorised according to their qualification route, either Dressage/Showing or Show jumping/Eventing. Horses who qualify over obstacles must be vetted for this purpose.
Post-sale vetting
All horses require a pre-sale five-stage vetting completed within 14 days of the sale. Vendors also have the option to upload X-rays or scopes to the Tattersalls repository, if they wish to enhance their horse’s profile. Purchasers may carry out a post-sale vetting within 48 hours, and may choose to have blood samples taken, which will be processed immediately (at the purchaser’s expense) through the Irish Equine Centre.
The catalogue will be published online in mid-July and the sale will take place on the Tattersalls Online platform on Tuesday, July 28th, following the Tattersalls July Show.
Vendors are strongly encouraged to present their horses at the show, which will provide excellent exposure and give prospective buyers the opportunity to view and trial horses on site. Additional viewings and trials can also be arranged privately in advance of the sale.
Entries for the sale will close on Monday, July 6th and must be submitted through Treo Eile, who will provide full support and guidance throughout the process to help you present your horse to the highest standard.
With limited spaces available, early expressions of interest are encouraged and can be submitted by emailing Melanie at hello@treoeile.com
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a carefully curated sale that highlights the versatility and value of thoroughbreds beyond racing.
