GOFFS UK has published its catalogue for the Premier Yearling Sale at Doncaster next month and it contains 400 lots.

Starting at 10am on Tuesday, August 24th, the two-day sale will be followed immediately on Wednesday by the Doncaster Silver Yearling Sale, and the Silver catalogue is also online to view.

Goffs UK managing director Tim Kent said: “From the coveted European two-year-old races to Royal Ascot’s most famed contests, international Group 1 sprints to the classics, the Premier Sale has celebrated recent winners in them all, a clear demonstration as to the ever-increasing class of horse this sale is producing.

“And that class is expanding from the track to the covering sheds and breeding paddocks – a crucial element required by all top-level yearling sales.

“The likes of Acclamation, Dark Angel and rising star Wootton Bassett have paved the way for recent top colts including Golden Horde, Advertise and Harry Angel, the latter of which has his first yearlings in the sale this year.

“The sale is also making its mark with its fillies. Multiple Group 1 victress and classic winner Laurens, who celebrated her first foal this year, is the sale’s obvious star and this season has seen more fillies prove their worth with the Group 2 winner Fev Rover and stakes winner Mystery Angel both achieving classic placings, in the 1000 Guineas and Oaks respectively, highlighting their class and the sale’s ongoing ability to produce.

“These are just a few examples of what can be found at the Doncaster Premier Sale and what, once again, awaits buyers at this year’s sale.”

Premier Prizes

Further incentive for 2021 is the launch of the all-new Premier Prizes, a unique new scheme which will see the winning owners of the Premier Yearling Stakes win a free horse from Goffs UK, along with a hospitality package from York Racecourse, and the winning trainer a free six-month lease of a two-stall horsebox from Theault.

The first Premier Prizes will be awarded at this year’s race on August 19th, so the winning owners will be able to bid on their free horse at this year’s sale.

Kent added: “The launch of the Premier and Silver Sale catalogues is always something we look forward to and especially this year as we take a positive step after a difficult 2020.

“We will be marketing these sales worldwide via our vast international network of Goffs agents and are very much looking forward to welcoming everyone to Doncaster.”
