THE Irish Equine Veterinary Association along with Connolly’s Red Mills have issued an industry-wide invitation to a two-day summit devoted to equine care at Gowran Park on Tuesday and Wednesday, August 12th and 13th.

A key objective of the event is to bring equine industry stakeholders together to discuss the best way to ensure all equines - from foaling onwards - will have ‘a good life, that is well lived’.

Both days will include a mid-morning visit to the Red Mills headquarters, followed by an afternoon series of talks and discussion sessions at the racecourse.

Tuesday is open to all associated with and or working with equines, including breeders, owners, stable staff, stud staff, trainers and transporters, as well as industry product and service providers.

Wednesday’s session is dedicated to equine’s veterinary practitioners. A series of topics will be presented, which will cover the key veterinary aspects of equine behaviour and best practice. CPD credits will be awarded.

The day will conclude with an evening of racing and supper.

IEVA is presently finalising the programme, which will be delivered by a panel of leading equine industry experts from both home and abroad. A full preview of the event will be carried in next week’s edition of The Irish Field.
