A RECENT fundraiser at Rathangan Bar in Wexford generated €37,110 for Irish Injured Jockeys.

The evening, organised by a local committee headed by Ashleigh Murphy and including both racing and point-to-point connections, featured live music, an auction, raffle, and an entertaining competition where local yards battled it out on a racing simulator.

Judges for the simulator competition included Sean Doyle, Tony Mullins and Paul Nolan. Guest auctioneers were Redmond Barry and Jonathan Fogarty. Bar owner Billy Bates also donated bar profits from the night.

Michael Higgins of Irish Injured Jockeys said: “A sincere ‘thank you’ goes out to all the individuals, businesses and organisations that contributed items for the auction and raffle, those who bought items at the auction and the wonderful audience who bought tickets for the great night’s craic.”
