SOME lucky readers of The Irish Field were invited on a tour of Kildangan Stud last Sunday morning, followed by racing at the Curragh.

Godolphin Ireland managing director Joe Osborne was their guide and the two-hour visit flew by.

The group saw stallions Night Of Thunder, Blue Point and Ghaiyyath, retired racehorse Master Of The Seas, and some newborn foals.

Owned by Sheikh Mohammed, Kildangan Stud is a jewel in the crown of the Irish bloodstock industry. Only recently has the stud been opened to the public.

Kildangan’s ‘Foal to Fame’ tour is one of 15 thoroughbred industry experiences you can now book online through Horse Country, an initiative backed by Fáilte Ireland, Kildare County Council and Tipperary County Council.
