LOOKING for a new year’s resolution or an ambitious goal to set for yourself in 2026?
Consider signing up for the Corinthian Challenge, an opportunity to ride in a race over the Irish Derby course and distance on Derby weekend.
A fundraiser for Irish Injured Jockeys Fund, the Corinthian Challenge is open to anyone regardless of previous experience. You must agree to raise a minimum of €3,000 in sponsorship and candidates must successfully complete an interview and a race-riding assessment to earn their qualification from the Racing Academy and Centre of Education.
Last year’s race attracted riders from Qatar, Britain and Australia. This year’s race takes place on Friday, June 26th at the Curragh. The closing date for applications is February 14th.
