SIOBHAN Madden, who judged ridden hunters in New Jersey last September and will be doing so in Virginia next fall, had the less onerous task of leading in her home-bred winner, Crystal Waves, at the Stonehall Harriers’ point-to-point in Cragmore on Sunday.
Trained and ridden by the very much in-form pairing of Sam Curling and Derek O’Connor, and sent off as the 6/4 favourite on her second start, the Crystal Ocean bay landed the opening six-runner five-year-old mares’ maiden by six lengths. She had finished fourth in similar company on her debut at Dromahane in late December.
