AFTER 22 years in the job, Lorcan Wyer acted as clerk of the course for the final time at Leopardstown this week. He will continue to work for the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board as clerk of the scales and racecourse judge.

“It’s embarrassing, all the presentations, just for doing my job,” Lorcan told us.

In the background Lorcan has been helping Slippers Madden and Shane Ryder establish themselves as clerks of the course and he will continue to provide assistance and advice to the new recruits as required.
