KEVIN Blake raised over €20,000 for two excellent racing charities through his recent half-marathon.

The racing and bloodstock analyst set himself a goal of completing the Clonmel half-marathon in under 90mins and, with the help of pacemakers John Gleeson and Emmet McNamara, Kevin crossed the line in 1m 28.46secs.

All donations are being shared between Treo Eile and Retraining of Racehorses.

Kevin has now embarked on the even-more-gruelling yearling sales circuit and took a moment out at Doncaster Sales to tell Goffs TV: “The fundraising has gone brilliantly. I did my part and people stepped up, in fairness.”

On employing a Derby-winning pacemaker in Emmet ‘Serpentine’ McNamara, Kevin said: “Oh, he’s seriously good. He wasn’t even blowing. He was incredibly at his ease. He could have went 15 minutes faster, easy.”

It’s still possible to show your support by making a donation online.
