Courtesy car saves Galway blushes

ADARE stages the Ryder Cup in 2027 and we hear the locals are lovely people. Just ask the Galway Races Members’ Club.

They sent a busload of supporters to Listowel last week, stopping off at Nevilles bar and restaurant in Adare for a toilet break. Their bladders emptied, off they went on the road to Kerry until they were overtaken and flagged down by a motorist a few miles from the racecourse.

Driving the car was one of the employees from the pub in Adare. And the passenger was one of the Galway members, who had been left behind in the toilets. Now that’s good service.

Overheard at Goffs

“What are you looking for in a filly?”

“I want her to stand like a lady and walk like a hooker.”
