David Cox and David Myerscough of Baroda & Colbinstown Consigning have announced the end of their eight-year highly successful partnership in bloodstock sales.

They will both continue to consign but will do so separately in what they described as "a natural progression" in the evolution of their businesses. They will continue to own broodmares and youngstock together.

David Cox of Baroda Stud said: “I have really enjoyed working with David and his family over the past eight years and we have achieved a lot together during that time. This is a natural and exciting development for Baroda and I am looking forward to growing the brand and extending our client base. The first sale under our own banner will be the Goffs Land Rover Sale in June."

David Myerscough of Colbinstown Stud said: "We both thought that now was a good time to go out on our own. We have been lucky to have had such wonderful support over the years. David and I are great pals and will remain so."

Baroda and Colbinstown Studs joined forces in 2011. Horses consigned by the team include Group 1 winners Cloth Of Stars and Marcel, and two time Grade 1 winner over jumps Champ.

The partnership also handled the European dispersal of Bobby Flay’s breeding stock at last year’s Tattersalls December Sales and the sale of listed-placed Pocketfullofdreams in foal to Galileo for one million guineas at the 2018 Tattersalls December Mare Sale.

That was the second successive year they consigned a million guinea mare at that sale following the sale of the listed winner Modernstone, carrying a Galileo foal, to Ballylinch Stud.

At the 2014 Tattersalls December Mare Sale they consigned Maid To Master, a full-sister to multiple Group 1 winner and sire Mastercraftsman, in foal to War Front for 900,000gns to Tony Nerses.

Baroda and Colbinstown also consigned the highest priced yearling from the first crop of 2018’s champion first season sire, No Nay Never, when selling the half-brother to Group 1 Prix Morny winner The Wow Signal for 850,000gns at Book 1 of the 2017 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale.

Last October they sold a Showcasing full-sister to Group 2 winning sprinter Tasleet for €850,000 to Mark Player at the Goffs Orby Sale.
