TRIPLE Group 1 winner Perfect Power has been retired from racing and will stand at Darley’s Dalham Hall Stud in Newmarket.

Trained by Richard Fahey, the son of Ardad (by Kodiac) won both the Prix Morny at Deauville and Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket as a juvenile. This year he won the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot.

Perfect Power’s potential was evident from an early stage of his career and he became the highest-priced two-year-old by Ardad to sell at last year’s breeze-up sales.

A successful pinhooking purchase from Tally-Ho Stud, he was snapped up for 16,000gns as a yearling at Book 2 and sold six months later to Blanford Bloodstock for £110,000.

Christophe Soumillon was aboard Perfect Power for seven of his 12 races and said of him: “He gave me a great turn of foot, like all the great champions. This horse is a machine.”

A covering fee has yet to be announced.
