A CORNER of Co Kilkenny will be enveloped in a wave of nostalgia next Sunday, July 9th, when Inistioge Show opens its gates for the first time in 34 years.

The Inistioge Agricultural Show, as it was then known, was launched in 1963 and was considered one of the most important show jumping fixtures of its age. Situated on the scenic banks of the River Nore, the show played host to some of the legends in the sport. Dream team members Eddie Macken, Capt. Con Power, Paul Darragh and Capt. Gerry Mullins all jumped here with their best horses, as did James Kiernan, Robert Splaine and Jack Doyle.
