DON’T forget to get your votes in for The Irish Field/Gain Equine Nutrition Star of the Month for June. The nominees are Denis Lynch, the Irish show jumping team, Heike Holstein, and Heather Dean-Wright. You can vote by visiting www.theirishfield.ie/star. Voting closes at midnight on Thursday, July 28th and the result will be in next Saturday’s paper.

British teams announced

THE British show jumping and dressage teams for the upcoming FEI World Championships in Herning, Denmark were announced this week. Di Lampard’s show jumping team is Scott Brash (Hello Jefferson), Harry Charles (Romeo 88), Ben Maher (Explosion W) and Joseph Stockdale (Equine America Cacharel). The travelling reserve is John Whitaker (Equine America Unick du Francport).

The dressage team was named as Richard Davidson (Bubblingh), Charlotte Dujardin (Imhotep), Charlotte Fry (Glamourdale) and Gareth Hughes (Classic Briolinca). The two reserves are Laura Tomlinson (Fallatijn) and Susan Pape (Harmony’s Eclectisch). This is the first British dressage team since 2008 not to feature Carl Hester, whose top horse En Vogue had to be withdrawn from the selection process due to lameness.

IDHBA schedule now available

THE Irish Draught Horse Breeders Association announced that their schedule for their popular National Breed Show on Saturday, September 3rd at Punchestown is now available. (See also page 99).

Tattersalls July Show

TATTERSALLS July Show takes place this weekend. Entries will be taken on the field both today (Saturday) and tomorrow (Sunday). Highlights include the scheduled Dubarry Burghley Young Event Horse qualifier; the Red Mills Supreme Champion of Champions Ridden Hunter Final.

Proceeds from the show will go as usual to St Francis Hospice in Blanchardstown and Raheny and Tattersalls July Show raised over €100,000 for this very worthy charity over the years.
