Dark Angel stays at €60,000

YEOMANSTOWN Stud has not raised the fees for any of its four stallions for 2023.

Dark Angel remains on €60,000 following a year which saw him sire four new individual Group 1 winners, headed by French classic scorer Mangoustine. The 17-year-old stallion is also the sire of Godolphin’s Grade 1-winning two-year-old Mysterious Night, plus top-level winners in Dubai and Australia this year.

Invincible Army will have his first runners next year and his fee stays at €7,500. Gay O’Callaghan said: “His progeny have been well supported in the sales ring by trainers, agents, and owners alike who were impressed by the excellent quality of his stock which share his attributes of strength and class. In total he had 57 yearlings sold at auction for an average of €57,680.”

The Group 1 winner Supremacy will have his first foals in the spring and has had his fee reduced to €10,000 for 2023. O’Callaghan said: “Supremacy covered a full book of mares in 2022 including 75 stakes-performing or -producing mares.”

O’Callaghan described Shaman’s first foals as “exceptional” and the Shamardal horse stays at €5,000 next year.

El Kabeir has relocated to Italy.
