MIRAGE Dancer, who stands at Capital Stud in Bennettsbridge, Co Kilkenny, has made a dream start to his stallion career, siring his first winner from his first runner. Nenette For Ever won stylishly over hurdles on debut in the Prix de la Tillaie at Fontainebleau on Monday.

The three-year-old filly, trained by leading French trainers Hector de Lageneste and Guillaume Macaire, showed a professional attitude and plenty of ability when making a winning debut, marking a hugely encouraging start for the first crop sire.

The filly is owned by Thierry Cypres of Haras du Pont, one of the leading AQPS breeders in France.

Vanessa Teehan of Charel Park Stud, who boards Thierry Cypres’s mares and represents him in Ireland, commented: “Nenette For Ever looked very forward and her trainers thought a lot of her. They are now looking towards a listed race and a Grade 3 with her.” Thierry Cypres has four three-year-olds by Mirage Dancer currently in training with France’s leading trainers and they are all reportedly highly thought of.

Mirage Dancer is by Frankel out of the Green Desert mare Heat Haze. He was a Group 3 winner in England and a Group 1 winner in Australia.
