FOLLOWING on from the four-year-old point-to-point maiden win of the McParlans’ €600 purchase Golden Drumlee, Caledon trainer Andy Oliver also displayed some astute buying skills when Fizzy Friday scored on her debut at Dundalk last Friday night.

The two-year-old bay Royal Applause filly, who won by a comfortable length and a quarter in the hands of Conor Hoban, was knocked down to Oliver for just 1,000 guineas when coming up as Lot 2040 in Book 3 of the October Yearling Sale at Tattersalls last year.
