WHILE Co Donegal’s Martin Harley was winning the Listed October Stakes for fillies and mares at Ascot on Saturday with the 20/1 shot One Master, Dungannon-born Barry McHugh was at Redcar where he landed the Two-Year-Old Trophy on the 4/1 favourite Darkanna.

This six-furlong race also carried listed status but had a far higher monetary value with the winner, a filly by Dark Angel and one of eight horses in the 23-runner race trained by Richard Fahey, picking up £99,242 for connections.
