Parmenion has to be respected as jockey bookings suggest he is the pick of the two Willie Mullins contenders. Off the track for 557 days, on paper at least, the bare form of his debut success doesn’t appear that strong.

Nonetheless, given his record in these races it would be folly to underestimate any runner from the champion trainer.

Willie Mullins holds a strong hand here with a trio of horses who acquitted themselves well in decent bumper company. Although not seen in public since winning at Fairyhouse in April 2021, it is the Malinas gelding Dark Raven that stable number one Paul Townend has decided to remain loyal to.

Unbeaten in two career starts, the form of his latest win has been well advertised subsequently.

Stablemate Viva Devito finished mid division in Grade 1 bumpers at the Cheltenham and Punchestown festivals last season. He made a very encouraging hurdling debut when second at Fairyhouse earlier this month, so should be involved at the finish.

1.10 Knight Frank Juvenile Hurdle (Grade 2) 2m

Lossiemouth can maintain her unbeaten record and in doing so, further strengthen her position at the head of the Triumph Hurdle market.

A winner at Auteuil in April, the filly made a hugely impressive Irish/stable debut when easily beating previous victors in a Grade 3 contest at Fairyhouse earlier this month. Despite this being her toughest test to date, it will be a surprise if she fails to pass it.

Cougar, a smart handicapper on the flat, has looked thoroughly professional since switching to hurdles.

Successful on his debut at Gowran Park in October, he put up another solid display when winning a better contest at Down Royal last month.

If there are any chinks in the favourites armour, he is the one most likely to take advantage.

Brookie only just did enough when justifying his short price at Limerick last month but as a result the handicapper left him on 110.

The Tony Martin-trained gelding had caught the eye staying on late at Tipperary on his previous start, hinting that he may not be too badly treated off that mark. Following his maiden win, he now reverts to handicap company and gets the chance to prove he could be ahead of the assessor.

Changing The Rules ran a big race on his handicap debut at Navan last month before finishing fourth back in novice company next time. The J.P. McManus owned gelding may not have stayed the 2m 4f trip on that occasion, so has to be of interest now dropped in distance once more.

Embittered might be capable of conceding weight to his rivals, especially with Rob James claiming a valuable 7lb. The eight-year-old went close at Cork last time over a slightly shorter trip, rallying well close home having been headed two out.

That form received a boost subsequently when the race winner followed up off a higher mark at Fairyhouse.

Final Orders bids for a four-timer here, having won his last three starts since going chasing. Despite his latest success coming over three miles, he has won at this trip and could bowl along in front in order to make this a real stamina test.

Park Of Kings showed enough when third on his recent debut to suggest he can be competitive in what is traditionally a strong bumper. Racing in the colours of trainer Paul Nolan on that occasion, the Walk In The Park gelding now sports the silks of J.P. McManus. It is surely significant that he has been acquired to race for the leading owner.

Did I Ask You That has yet to be seen in public but given his connections he is an obvious contender. Willie Mullins has tended to introduce his better bumper horses at this meeting over the years, so the Mulryan-owned gelding is most likely well up the pecking order.
