JOSEPH O’Brien has made 11 entries for the A$10.2 million Lexus Melbourne Cup. The two-mile Grade 1 handicap will be run at Flemington on Tuesday, November 3rd.

A total of 23 international horses have been entered, including five from Aidan O’Brien. George Boughey, Harry Charlton, Miguel Clement, Nicky Henderson, Emmet Mullins, Yasuo Tomomichi and Roger Varian have one entry each.

The two most recent Melbourne Cup winners - Half Yours and Knights Choice - have been entered. The most well represented of the local stables are Ciaron Maher with 14 entries and Chris Waller with 12 nominations.

Late entries can be added until September 15th and the weights will be published on September 17th.
