THE Irish Equine Veterinary Association will host IEVA Conference 2025 from Thursday, November 6th to Sunday, November 9th across a series of locations in Co Kilkenny and Co Carlow.
Billed as largest equine veterinary continuing professional development (CPD) event on the island of Ireland, IEVA Conference 2025 will see Lyrath Estate in Kilkenny hosting the programme of presentations and workshops on Friday and Saturday, November 7th and 8th.
A stellar line-up of leading equine veterinary industry speakers has been secured to deliver a wide-ranging and thought-provoking programme of topics and workshops. Every aspect of the horse will be under the proverbial spotlight from the hoof to the heart. Speakers include Emma Adam, Johanna ‘Janny’ de Grauw, Celia Marr, Siobhan Mullan, Jonathan Nunn and Prof Roger Smith.
The Conference will also feature the much-respected Case Awards, which this year is generously sponsored by Celtic SMR. For the third year running, IEVA will be hosting a group of veterinary students at the Conference as part of its Future Proof Campaign.
An engaging and immersive series of workshops have been woven into the comprehensive programme, which will appeal to all in the veterinary practitioners’ community, from the recently graduated to the more established vet.
What’s new in the Papers
The programme includes a section entitled ‘What’s new in the Papers’, which will cover surgery, internal medicine, reproduction and lameness. It will be chaired by Siobhan McAuliffe.
There will also be a session on research abstracts presented on Saturday morning which will be chaired by Sarah Ross.
Delegates will hear updates from a range of industry stakeholders including the Department of Agriculture, Irish Equine Centre, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board, Irish Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association, Horse Racing Ireland, Horse Sport Ireland and Weatherbys. There will also be an opportunity to join nutritional workshops in the Connolly’s Red Mills Feed Room.
This year sees the largest participation of industry product and service providers filling the Exhibitor Hall and Exhibitor Lobby. While there will much learning and networking taking place over the four days, IEVA’s Gala Ball on Friday night will provide the opportunity to enjoy great good and fun with dancing into the early hours courtesy of Spring Break.
IEVA President Sabrina Barnwell said: “I am very proud of the conference committee who pulled it all together. The programme on offer will appeal to all our hard-working veterinary practitioners who are passionate about the wellness of Ireland’s equine herd. A sincere word of thanks needs to go to our loyal industry exhibitors and sponsors who make IEVA Conference 2025 possible.”
