HORSE Sport Ireland (HSI) is encouraging owners wishing to change ownership of any horses they hope to compete at the Dublin Horse Show beginning on August 6th to visit Horse Source (www.horsesource.ie) and complete the application online.

Horse Source is the online system that allows the first stage of the process to be completed within minutes, and the application is also cheaper and more efficient than changing ownership via the paper application system. Horse Sense has asked for this step-by-step guide to help.

It is very important to have the horse’s passport to hand, as well as the Equine Premises Registration Number (EPRN) for the location where the horse is kept, and a credit or debit card.

By following the step-by-step instructions guide below, users can make the change of ownership online and then must send the passport to HSI at 1st Floor Beech House, Millennium Park, Oldtown, Naas, Co Kildare, W91 TK7N.

HSI recommends passports are sent via registered post, and to ensure timely delivery of the horse’s passport to its new owner, they recommend that the passport is received by HSI by July 23rd.

This is to ensure it is received back within plenty of time, as this is always a particularly busy period, especially for any change of ownership applications required ahead of the Dublin Horse Show.

Change of ownership cost:

  • €49.20 when applied for through Horse Source (recommended)
  • €74.20 when it’s a paper application
  • What do you need before you start?

Horse Sport Ireland has said they cannot be held responsible for passports lost in the post when returning to HSI. HSI recommend that all passports are posted via registered post. For any queries contact horsesportireland.ie/contact-us.
