A €42,000 colt by Fast Company emerged as the top lot on day one of the Goffs November Foal Sale which got underway with a largely low key session.

The five-day sale will reach its crescendo on Thursday but trade was of a modest variety on day one as just 82 of the 174 foals offered were sold for a clearance rate of 47%. Pinhookers turned out in force for the opening day of the sale but, as the figures would indicate, they were mindful of the selective nature of the market they will be selling back into next year.
