RACE Academy are preparing for a busy 2023 with a wide range of courses and training available to anyone working in the industry or those looking to get started working in the industry. The Trainee Jockey programme open days have been launched and please check out RACE social media platforms for a full list of upcoming dates.

January training includes the six-week Thoroughbred Industry Administration course which provides education in areas such as Microsoft Excel, Health and Safety, HR, Payroll and Racing and Stud administration. This course is aimed at anyone who may wish to work in or assist in administrative functions across the thoroughbred industry.

The re-introduction of Racecourse Safety Awareness will provide medical and practical training to ground staff working at racecourses across Ireland providing the participants with training on how to act in different situations that may arise during a race day.

January also launches the start of our QQI Level 5 evening classes in Horsemanship for the Thoroughbred Industry. These modules are open to anyone as a stand-alone module or towards a full Level 5 award. The first module of Equine Anatomy and Physiology will commence on Tuesday evening January 24th and classes will be offered through evening sessions via face-to-face and online delivery.

Further training courses offered throughout the year will include Schooling Preparation and Progression, Rider Improvement, Equine transport, Introduction to Thoroughbred Care and Exercise, Junior Academies, Jockey Coaching as well as all usual licensing courses.
