THE mud was no deterrent for Ted O’Leary and Silver Brog, who claimed the EI 110 J on their opening score of 27.0 A new partnership this season, the pair filled third place on the flat, and adding nothing further - one of only three to do so - increased their lead over Keelin McCarthy and Romans Mr Kane, as well as Blackstairs victors Matthew Kelly (Ah To Be Sure).

The Co Wexford combination of Georgina Pettit and Ballyerk Black Beauty impressively landed a seasonal hat-trick in the EI 110 (P). Unbeaten so far this year, the duo impressed on the flat and remained in front of Matthew Love (Cloughreagh Charlie) and Tom Nestor (Tullaree Ruby Tuesday) who were also double clear.

Another to keep their winning record intact was Alex O’Hare and Greylands Diamond Girl. This pair landed an emphatic victory in the following EI 100 (P) when not only heading the dressage, but by creditably producing the sole double clear of the class.

A win in the EI 100 (J) firmly cemented the blossoming new partnership of Eliza Kavanagh and Jane Hancock’s Whitetree Sky. The experienced Kings Master-sired mare was placed midway on the flat, and was promoted after delivering one of only two clear rounds within the time.

Finally, and capping a memorable day, Georgina Petitt took her second red ribbon in the closing EI 90 (P). Winning from the front, Petitt rode the Connemara Ballyerk Lover, who in his first season eventing has clocked up two wins from three runs.
