Happy D’ex has yet to build on the promise that saw her making a winning debut in the point-to-point field before starting off on the track with a Fairyhouse bumper success.

She came down on the flat before the last in a maiden hurdle here two months ago when set to run a respectable race and she is put forward in the hope that she can progress on her track form to date. The 103-rated Trendy Lady looks a likely danger having lost out by just a short-head to Diamondinthemud over this course and distance last month.

Soviet Pimpernel has become a frustrating horse to follow and has yet to build on the Grade 3 success he recorded at Limerick’s Christmas Festival in 2019 but he is worth another chance. He comes here off several respectable showings in conditions hurdles and he could take beating if he gets back to the form he showed to finish third to Shewearsitwell at Killarney in May.

Dollar Value is a very useful multiple course winner who trounced Britzka in a handicap hurdle here a couple of months ago. He won this race last year and is a formidable rival for the selection.

Only One Plan makes plenty of appeal. He started off in handicap hurdles with an encouraging fifth to Unanswered at Punchestown in May and last time out he took third behind the progressive Little Big Rocky at Killarney. The last-named has boosted that form with a subsequent win at an appreciably higher level of competition and Only One Plan can take advantage of his mark. Montel Glory followed a solid effort here in June with a victory over this course and distance last month and he should still be closely involved despite the fact he is 6lbs higher in the weights.

An encouraging run at Ballinrobe last month earns Park Hind the vote. On that occasion the daughter of Walk In The Park was beaten a nose by Galon De Vauzelle. That effort would suggest that she can make her mark on the track and her rider’s 7lbs claim means that she will be receiving the best part of two stone from the top-weight Motown Maggie who performed to a solid standard throughout last season. She does look capable of landing a race such as this but she might just be vulnerable on her first outing for 128 days.

Rexem looks to have been found a good opportunity. He was beaten on his first couple of runs, which included a good showing in a winner’s event at Bellewstown, and then won nicely here last month. He was switched to hurdles at Galway last weekend where he ran an honourable third to Merlin Giant and a similar showing will make him hard to beat.

He is preferred to West Coast Informant whose 11-length second to Perceval Legallois at Wexford a couple of months ago would indicate that a summer maiden hurdle could be within his reach. He may want a longer trip though.

A hopeful vote goes to Menindee. She ran respectably in a handicap over a shorter trip at this track last month when fourth to Montel Glory and seemed to appreciate moving up in trip when third to The Holmeister over an extended two miles and five furlongs at Ballinrobe. That last run gives her every chance and she might just see off Townhill Penny who lost out late on over the course and distance last month when second to Fassbender.

Moonovercloon could strike for a yard going well. He showed plenty of ability when fourth to subsequent Grade 3 winner The Goffer in a Navan maiden hurdle in December and on his first run since then he ran a creditable fourth to What Path in a Galway bumper last week.

That last run should have brought him on and he might be able to see off Nottodaybobo whose debut saw him finish second to Kinbara in a bumper at Killarney last month.
