“A MOST impressive winner on her Borris debut where she outclassed, out-galloped and outperformed her rivals by an enormous margin.

“None of the others could land a blow as not only did this mare win by a massive distance, but she was increasing her advantage at the line it seemed, suggesting she is a mare who can go all the way to the top. Few mares have ever posted such wide margin victories which ensures this performance must be taken very seriously indeed.

“She looks one of the most exciting mares of the autumn season on this evidence. The fact that she clocked the fastest time on a day where there were eleven races and three divisions of a four-year-old gelding’s maiden is something which should not be understated either”.

These were some of the comments made for the Tattersalls online sale of Halka Du Tabert in December, and the daughter of Balko (Pistolet Bleu) sold to Rathmore Stud for 260,000gns to race for Kenny Alexander. Handler James Doyle negotiated a private sale for £18,000 to buy the filly as a three-year-old.

Halka Du Tabert won on her racecourse debut at Naas at the weekend, and now the dream can begin in earnest. She is the second winner, both by Balko, for her dam who won a blacktype chase in France, one of her five career wins. She was the best of her dam’s four winners.
