THE Group 1 Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby and Group 2 Royal Ascot winner Santiago sired his first foal on Monday night when Bestow produced a filly at Ballincurrig House Stud.

“She’s a gorgeous bay filly with quality, bone and size,” said owner Michael Moore. “We are delighted with her.” Bestow is a daughter of Presenting (Mtoto) and a half-sister to Operating (Milan), winner of the €100,000 Grade 1 Aon Handicap Novice Chase at Punchestown.

Bestow’s half-sister Glancing (Kayf Tara) is the dam of The Glancing Queen (Jeremy), the Grade 2-winning mare who topped this week’s Goffs UK January Sale when selling to DahlBury for £150,000.

Santiago, who stands at Coolmore’s Castlehyde Stud, is a Derby winner like his sire Authorized, grandsire Montjeu (Sadler’s Wells), and relatives Galileo (Sadler’s Wells) and Sea The Stars (Cape Cross).
